About this product
This is a printable review packet designed for first graders, ages 6 to 7. It holds 100 worksheets in math, reading, phonics and sight words. You print a page and hand it over with a pencil. There is nothing to cut out, laminate or set up, and your child can do most pages alone.
Use it any time of year: after a break, in a slow week, on a trip, or beside your main lessons. It reviews what has been taught. It does not teach a skill from the beginning.
How to use it
- Print a set (its opener and ten worksheets) or only today's pages.
- Read the first numbered line aloud together, then step back. Most pages take about 10 minutes.
- Check the page beside the answer key. Your child colors a face to show how it went and checks the box on the set strip.
Two pages a day finishes one set a week, so the packet lasts ten weeks. Or use the skills index to print every page on one skill.
Page 3 says what to say, how long a page takes and what to do when an answer is wrong. Page 4 shows a worksheet filled in, so you can see a finished page before you start.
What is in every set
Each set mixes the subjects, so no two pages in a row feel the same: four math pages, four reading and word pages, one puzzle and one page just for fun. Each set opens with a check-off strip for your child and one tip for you on every page in the set.
Math (40 pages)
- Adding and subtracting within 10 and within 20, doubles, making ten, fact families, missing numbers, true or false number sentences
- Number bonds, ten frames, jumps on a number line, 12 story problems
- Counting to 120, skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s
- Tens and ones with drawn blocks, 10 more and 10 less, comparing and ordering numbers
- Telling time to the hour and half hour, with drawn clocks
- US coins: penny, nickel, dime, quarter
- Shapes, halves and fourths, bar graphs, tally marks, measuring with cubes
Reading and words (40 pages)
- Short vowels, long vowels with magic e and vowel teams, digraphs, blends, ending sounds, words with ar and or, rhyming
- 40 sight words in five lists: a practice page for each list, and a word search in the next set that brings the same words back
- Fixing sentences (capital letters and end marks), telling and asking sentences, unscrambling sentences
- Nouns, verbs and adjectives, plurals with s and es, ABC order
- 5 short stories with questions, handwriting on proper three-line guides, draw-and-write pages
Puzzles and fun (20 pages)
- 3 mazes, 3 dot-to-dots (counting to 22, by 2s to 50 and by 5s to 100)
- 4 color-by-code pictures and a hundred chart picture
- 3 crack-the-code riddles (in the math count above)
- My bucket list, reading bingo, all about me, would you rather, shape patterns, compound words, opposites, count and graph, and a final "show what you know" page
Also inside
- A skills index: every skill, with the pages that practice it
- A complete answer key for 91 pages: each worksheet shown small with its answers in blue. The other 9 pages are open (drawing, handwriting, lists) and have no single right answer.
- Questions parents ask, and a certificate for finishing
Checked answers
Every math problem and its answer are made from the same numbers, and each one is worked out a second time by separate checking code before the book is built. The clocks, coins, blocks and graphs are drawn from the same numbers as their answers. Every word search word can be found exactly once, every maze has exactly one way through, and every phonics word is tested against its spelling pattern.
What you download
- Screen edition in color, US Letter (8.5 x 11 in), 141 pages
- Screen edition in color, A4 (210 x 297 mm), 141 pages
- A print pack (ZIP) with the low-ink black and white edition in US Letter and A4, the answer key as a file of its own, and a START-HERE page
Good to know
- Both paper sizes are in the download. You do not have to choose when you buy.
- Every worksheet prints clean in black and white. Color-by-code pages name each color in words, so the page needs crayons, not colored ink.
- Print at 100% or "actual size", on one side of plain paper.
- You may print any page as often as you like for your own children. Please do not share or resell the files.
- The children's pages use US spelling (color, favorite) and the word math. Three pages use US coins; every coin is labelled with its name or value.
- This is practice material. It makes no promise about results, and it is not a full first grade program.
- The pages and pictures were made with AI-assisted tools and code written for this packet, then checked by Handy Home Schooling. No clip art is used: every picture is drawn for this book.
- This is a digital download. Nothing is posted to you, and you need a printer or a print shop.
