About this product

This is a printable set of daily math review worksheets designed for second graders, ages 7 to 8. You print one week, which is 3 pages. Your child does one short set a day, about 10 minutes, and you check it together with the answer key. There are 36 weeks, enough for a whole school year: 180 days and 1,764 questions.

It is a spiral review. No skill is done once and then dropped. Adding and subtracting, place value, telling time, money, measuring, graphs and shapes keep coming back all year, a little harder every six weeks. Many families and teachers use this kind of page as morning work.

How to use it

  1. Print the week: Monday with Tuesday on one page, Wednesday with Thursday on the next, and the Friday check-up on the third.
  2. Each day your child answers 9 questions in pencil: four adding or subtracting problems, two number questions, two picture questions (a clock, coins, a ruler, a shape, an array or a number line) and one word problem.
  3. You check it together with the answer key. Pages 2 and 3 tell you what to say and what to do when an answer is wrong. You do not need a teaching background.
  4. On Friday there are 12 check-up questions, including a bar graph or picture graph, and one harder star question for children who want it. You write the score on the progress chart.

Pages 4 to 6 show a whole example week filled in, with a mistake crossed out and fixed, so you can see what a finished week looks like before you start.

What it covers

  • Adding and subtracting within 20, then within 100, then within 1,000, with regrouping from week 10
  • Place value: hundreds, tens and ones, expanded form, number words, 10 more and 100 less
  • Skip counting by 2s, 5s, 10s and 100s, and number lines
  • Comparing and ordering numbers with <, > and =
  • Odd and even numbers
  • Word problems every day, with two-step problems from week 19
  • Telling time: hours and half hours first, then quarter hours, then to 5 minutes, then a.m. and p.m.
  • US coins: pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters, then dollar bills written like $1.41
  • Measuring with a drawn ruler in inches and centimeters
  • Bar graphs and picture graphs
  • Shapes (triangle, quadrilateral, pentagon, hexagon, cube) and equal shares (halves, thirds, fourths)
  • Arrays and equal groups, as a first step toward multiplication

What is inside (139 pages)

  • Start here and how to run the 10 minutes (2 pages): the daily routine, what to say, what to do with a wrong answer, how to make it easier or harder.
  • An example week, filled in (3 pages).
  • A skills map showing which of the 36 weeks practice which of the 14 skills, counted from the real pages.
  • A year progress chart with a check box for each day and a place for each Friday score.
  • 36 weeks of worksheets (108 pages). Clear type, one instruction per question, and an answer box at least 10 mm tall for every answer.
  • A full answer key (9 pages), by week and day.
  • How to explain it (14 pages): one page for each skill, with a worked example, three more questions to try together, things to say, the common slips and what to do about them, and a way to practice with real things from around the house.

What you download

  • The whole book in color, US Letter (8.5 x 11 in).
  • The whole book in color, A4 (210 x 297 mm).
  • The year progress chart as a fillable PDF, to type scores and check off days on a computer.
  • A print pack (ZIP): the whole book in a low-ink black and white edition in both paper sizes, the answer key as its own 9-page file in both sizes, and a one-page START-HERE.

Good to know

  • Money questions use US coins (penny, nickel, dime, quarter), and the child's pages use US spelling: math, color, favorite, centimeters. Families in the UK, Canada and Australia can use every page; treat the coin questions as number practice.
  • Coins are drawn as circles with the value written on them, in their true sizes compared with each other. They are not pictures of the real coin faces.
  • It covers the skills usually taught in second grade in the United States. It prints no standards codes.
  • Every answer in the key was worked out twice: once when the question was made, and again by a separate check that also reads each clock, coin row, ruler and graph back from the drawing. The build stops if any answer differs.
  • This is review and practice. It does not teach a topic for the first time, and it makes no promise about test results.
  • Both paper sizes are in the download. Print at 100% or "actual size", on one side of ordinary paper. You can print any page as often as you like.
  • For your own children or your own class. Please do not share or resell the files.
  • The questions were generated by a program written for this book, with AI assistance. All pictures are drawn by that program. No AI image tools were used.
  • This is a digital download. Nothing is mailed to you, and you need a printer or a print shop.
