Large Print Word Search Puzzles for Adults

This is a book of 100 printable word search puzzles in large print, designed for adults who want letters that are easy to read. You download a PDF, print the pages at home on US Letter or A4 paper, and solve them with a pen, a pencil or a highlighter. Every solution is included.

A bound puzzle book has a fold down the middle, comes on whatever paper the publisher chose, and can be used once. A printable is different. One puzzle fills one page, it prints on your own paper, and if you want a clean copy you print the page again.

How it works

1. Open the PDF and print the page you want. Every page has its number at the bottom, and the book shows you how to print one puzzle, a batch, or all 100.
2. Find the 18 words listed under the grid. They are all on one subject.
3. Loop or highlight each word as you find it, and tick the circle beside it in the list.
4. If you get stuck, look at the solution. Every puzzle page tells you the page its solution is on.

What is inside (132 pages)

• A short guide: what the book is, how to do a word search with a worked example, the three levels, how to print, and a list of all 100 subjects with their page numbers.
• 100 puzzles, one to a page. Each has a grid of 15 by 15 letters and 18 words to find. The book has 1,800 words and no word is used twice.
• Three levels, marked on every page. Level 1 (puzzles 1 to 34): words run across and down only. Level 2 (puzzles 35 to 67): diagonals too. Level 3 (puzzles 68 to 100): any direction, forwards or backwards.
• 100 subjects from everyday life, in ten areas: In the Garden. Kitchen and Food. Animals and Nature. Weather, Land and Sky. Places and Travel. Music, Movies and Books. Games, Sports and Hobbies. • Every solution, four to a page, with the found words highlighted. Each one shows its puzzle number and the page the puzzle is on.

How large is the print?

• Grid letters are 20 point. Each letter has its own square just under half an inch (11 mm) wide.
• Word lists are 15 point capitals, in A to Z order.
• Solutions are about 11.5 point, because four share a page.
• Everything is black on white, in a typeface drawn so that similar letters are easy to tell apart.

What you download

• The whole book as a PDF in US Letter, and again in A4. Both have bookmarks, and the page numbers in the lists are links.
• A ZIP file with the 100 puzzles on their own and the solutions on their own, in both paper sizes, for printing a whole stack in one go. In the puzzles-only file, puzzle 1 is page 1. A one-page printing guide is in the ZIP too.

Good to know

• This is a digital download. Nothing is posted to you, so you need a printer or a print shop.
• Both paper sizes are in the download. You do not have to choose when you buy.
• Spelling is American (COLOR, not COLOUR). Answers are single words with no spaces.
• Print at 100% or "actual size". Black and white is fine. Print on one side of the paper so a highlighter cannot show through onto another puzzle.
• Print any page as often as you like for your own use.
• Every puzzle was checked by a program before the book was made: each listed word is in its grid exactly once, in the place the solution shows.
